On October 24, Shi Xiaolin, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, met with a delegation led by José Perurena, President of the International World Games Association (IWGA), in Chengdu.

Shi Xiaolin expressed her sincere appreciation and welcomed President Perurena for leading the delegation on another visit to Sichuan to provide on-site guidance for the preparation of the World Games 2025 Chengdu. She also briefed the delegation on the latest advancements in the event's organizational process. Shi Xiaolin said that the Party Central Committee and the State Council attach great importance to the preparation of the World Games 2025 Chengdu. With the support and guidance of the General Administration of Sports of China, we are making substantial and systematic advancements in venue construction, event organization, ceremonial activities, and other pertinent areas. At present, there are fewer than 300 days remaining until the commencement of the event. We will adhere to the principles of organizing "streamlined, safe, and splendid games", integrating competition hosting with urban development, industry advancement, and public welfare initiatives, and leverage the valuable experience gained from hosting the Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games. We will sustain effective communication and close collaboration with the IWGA team, refine and implement security protocols for all aspects, and continue to enhance the planning for key events, including the torch relay, test events for the circuit competition, as well as the opening and closing ceremonies. We will disseminate the World Games' ethos of putting athletes at the center and the spirit of self-challenge and limit-pushing, continually share the stories of the World Games and Chengdu, and enhance the visibility and impact of the World Games while also enriching the sense of fulfillment among the participants. We are confident that through our collective endeavors and the enthusiastic support from various quarters, we will be able to stage a World Games that meets international standards, reflects Chinese characteristics, and highlights the unique essence of Sichuan.

Perurena fully affirmed the progress achieved in the preparation for the World Games 2025 Chengdu. He remarked that after the on-site evaluation, the IWGA and the respective international sports federations, among other stakeholders, have complete confidence in the event's punctual and seamless implementation. He expressed hope that the teams from the two sides will sustain their cooperation and coordination, drive forward the preparations with excellence, ensure extensive public involvement, and integrate sports into urban lifestyles, with the goal of organizing the best World Games in history.
