On December 19, the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee held a symposium with non-CPC personages to thoroughly implement the spirit of the Central Economic Work Conference and to seek opinions and suggestions from leaders of the provincial committees of non-CPC political parties, head of the Sichuan Provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce, and representatives of personages with no party affiliation, on doing a good job in economic work of the next year. Entrusted by Wang Xiaohui, Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee, Shi Xiaolin, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, attended and addressed the symposium.

At the symposium, Dong Weimin, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Executive Vice Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, presented a report on the province's economic operation in 2024 and the considerations for economic work in 2025. The following attendees spoke in turn: Ouyang Zehua, Chairperson of the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang; Liu Xuguang, Chairperson of the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the China Democratic League; Xie Shanghua, Chairperson of the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the China National Democratic Construction Association; Xu Weilin, Chairperson of the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the China Association for Promoting Democracy; He Yanzheng, Chairperson of the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Chinese Peasants and Workers Democratic Party; Yang Bangqiong, the full-time Vice Chairperson of the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the China Zhi Gong Party; Yang Dan, Chairperson of the Sichuan Provincial Committee of Jiusan Society; Tang Yan, Chairperson of the Sichuan Provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce; and representatives of personages without party affiliation Li Han, Ke Xiao, President of Kanghong Pharmaceutical Group, and Wang Zhiyong, Chairman of HKC. They offered suggestions on such topics as developing the silver economy, supporting the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises, enhancing, strengthening and optimizing the companies and industrial clusters, developing key material industries, vigorously boosting consumption, addressing trade and economic risks, establishing guidance funds for key industries, promoting the development and growth of the private sector, facilitating the global expansion of industries, and accelerating the development of the biopharmaceutical and new display sectors.

After carefully listening to everyone's speeches, Shi Xiaolin requested the relevant departments to meticulously organize and study the suggestions, actively incorporating and transforming these comments into their implementation efforts. Shi Xiaolin pointed out that since the beginning of this year, under the leadership of General Secretary Xi Jinping and the scientific guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the whole province has united and worked hard, promoted a generally stable and progressive economic performance, and made new strides towards high-quality development. These accomplishments are a testament to the diligent efforts and insightful input of the non-CPC political parties, the Sichuan Provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce, and personages with no party affiliation. Shi Xiaolin expressed appreciation for their contributions to the province's economic and social development. Next year marks the final year of the 14th Five-Year Plan and is pivotal for laying a solid foundation for a good start to the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030). We will thoroughly implement the guiding principles from the Central Economic Work Conference, earnestly carry out the arrangements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, resolutely shoulder the mission of building "two highlands, two bases, and one shield", keep robust confidence and a keen grasp of opportunities, proactively integrate our development with and serve national major strategies, accurately pinpoint the focus of our efforts, face problems head-on, identify the crux of the issues, take action-oriented and collaborative efforts, promote the implementation of major work plans, continuously cultivate new dynamics and advantages for high-quality development, and strive to promote the sustained recovery and improvement of the province's economy, emphasizing both quantity and quality.

Shi Xiaolin expressed the hope that the non-CPC political parties, the Sichuan Provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce, and personages with no party affiliation will maintain alignment with the political direction, leverage their unique advantages, actively provide candid and constructive advice, and make even greater contributions to serving the overall development of the province. We will support everyone in better participating in and deliberating on state affairs, as well as implementing democratic oversight. By working together in unity and harmony, we will elevate Sichuan's modernization drive to a new level.
