On December 25, Wang Xiaohui, Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of Sichuan Provincial People's Congress, visited the High People's Court of Sichuan Province and the People's Procuratorate of Sichuan Province. He met with and expressed his regards to the officials and staff, as well as inspected and guided the work related to judicial services in support of economic and social development. He emphasized the need to thoroughly study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law and the gist of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on Sichuan's work, diligently execute the plans outlined in the Central and Provincial Economic Work Conferences, consistently focus on supporting the overarching objectives, and faithfully fulfill the duties and responsibilities conferred upon by the Constitution and laws, thereby harnessing high-standard judicial support to better secure the province's high-quality development, and contributing legal strength to Sichuan's modernization drive.

At the provincial high people's court, Wang Xiaohui visited the Sichuan Courts 12368 Service Center and the Third Science and Technology Division in sequence. He observed the center's operations, including call forwarding and litigation consultation services, as well as the scenario demonstration of courtroom functionalities, and, meanwhile, received briefings on relevant situations, such as litigation services, adjudication management, and case enforcement. He emphasized that digital transformation and the integration of intelligence within the judiciary are vital for modernizing the judicial system and judicial capabilities, and this is also a crucial move for meeting the diverse judicial needs of the people. Efforts should be ongoing to further advance the development of the "Digital Courts", enhance the efficiency and quality of litigation services, adjudication management, and case enforcement, and make the judiciary more accessible and beneficial to the people. In the General Office of the Third Criminal Division, Wang Xiaohui concentrated on understanding the court's role in coordinating efforts against telecommunication and internet fraud, its contribution to ensuring workplace safety, and additional relevant situations. He emphasized that as institutions for the people, the courts must diligently handle the cases "around the people", which directly impact public sentiment and support, effectively protect the immediate interests of the people, and ensure they live and work in safety and contentment, thereby enhancing the their sense of fulfillment in the rule of law.

At the provincial people's procuratorate, Wang Xiaohui visited the command center. There, he meticulously observed the functional demonstration of the intelligent procuratorate "One Platform, Three Centers" system, gaining a detailed understanding of how digital means are used to enhance the efficiency of legal supervision. He said that procuratorates, as legal oversight institutions, hold a significant position and bear great responsibility. It is essential to adeptly utilize advanced technological tools in carrying out law-based oversight responsibilities, adhere to a working approach that balances the interplay between oversight and case handling, and ensure a steadfast commitment to strict law enforcement and impartial administration of justice. Afterward, Wang Xiaohui visited the Office of the Public Interest Litigation Procuratorial Department and the lobby of the 12309 Procuratorial Service Center. He conducted discussions with the staff present and inquired about the status of public interest litigation efforts, the implementation of "Procuratorial Protection of People's Livelihood" and "Procuratorial Protection of Enterprises" initiatives, and other work. He emphasized the need for procuratorates to build on their functions and responsibilities, continually broaden their service avenues for the people, consistently deliver tangible procuratorial services dedicated to the people's interest, rigorously combat crimes, such as those that infringe upon the legal rights and interests of businesses, intensify legal oversight in cases involving enterprises, and provide high-quality legal services to preserve a healthy market economy environment.

During the inspection, Wang Xiaohui affirmed the achievements made by the provincial high people's court and the provincial people's procuratorate in various tasks over the recent years. Noting that the entire province is forging ahead decisively toward crafting a new chapter of Sichuan in advancing Chinese modernization, he emphasized that promoting modernization and pursuing high-quality development necessitate robust legal support. The court and procuratorial systems across the province must concentrate on improving the mechanism for impartial enforcement of laws and judicial proceedings, ensure the effective implementation of key reform tasks, and leverage the momentum of further deepening reform comprehensively to continually open new ground for the court and procuratorial cause. The role of the rule of law in reinforcing fundamentals, stabilizing expectations, and delivering long-term benefits should be fully harnessed. Furthermore, it is essential to align closely with the decisions and plans of the Party Central Committee and the provincial Party committee, accurately identify the starting points and focal areas for performing duties, and exert more substantial efforts toward such work as fostering a law-based business environment, ensuring equitable protection for various types of business entities, safeguarding consumer rights and interests, and supporting high-standard opening-up, thereby more effectively driving high-quality economic development. Wang Xiaohui emphasized that as we approach the end of the year and the start of a new one, it is of paramount importance to ensure the wellbeing of the people and to maintain safety and stability. It is essential to uphold and develop the "Fengqiao model" in the new era, strive to improve our ability to solve pressing difficulties and problems that concern the people most through judicial means, actively identify and resolve disputes at their source, rigorously combat all forms of illegal and criminal activities, ensure that every case is dealt with fairly and justly in accordance with the law, and promptly honor the rights and interests of those who prevail in legal proceedings. We should see that the people feel justice has been served in each and every judicial case, ensuring overall social stability and order in the province.
