|
Recently, Wang Xiaohui, Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of Sichuan Provincial People's Congress, met with a delegation led by Murat Nurtleu, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, in Chengdu.
During the meeting, Wang Xiaohui welcomed Murat Nurtleu and his delegation to Sichuan for the Fifth China-Central Asia Foreign Ministers' Meeting and also briefly introduced the province's economic and social development situations. He stated that China and Kazakhstan are geographically close and enjoy shared development and prosperity. Under the strategic guidance and direct promotion of the two heads of state, China and Kazakhstan have established a permanent comprehensive strategic partnership and are building a more substantive and dynamic China-Kazakhstan community with a shared future. Kazakhstan is an important cooperation partner for Sichuan in Central Asia. In recent years, with the sound development momentum in China-Kazakhstan relations, the two sides have seen frequent high-level mutual visits, close economic and trade interactions, and extensive cultural and people-to-people exchanges. The cooperation has yielded fruitful results. Sichuan is accelerating its efforts to construct a strategic highland for opening up to the west and a new base for participating in international competition. We eagerly anticipate using this China-Central Asia Foreign Ministers' Meeting as an opportunity to further deepen and expand mutually beneficial cooperation with Kazakhstan in various fields under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, striving to make greater contributions to promoting the building of a China-Kazakhstan community with a shared future. It is hoped that Deputy Prime Minister Murat Nurtleu will support and promote Kazakhstan to establish closer economic and trade ties with Sichuan, deepen our cooperation in areas such as infrastructure, clean energy, modern agriculture, and connectivity, and actively expand tourism cooperation and cultural exchanges. This will elevate our friendly and cooperative relationship to a new height.
Murat Nurtleu expressed his appreciation for Sichuan's accomplishments in economic and social development. He stated that Kazakhstan and China share a strong friendship that goes back thousands of years, and Kazakhstan attaches great importance to developing its relations with China. Sichuan, a major province in China's western region, is experiencing robust growth momentum. They are very optimistic about the prospects for cooperation with Sichuan. They are willing to continue leveraging the complementary advantages between the two sides, such as in resources, industries, and markets, consistently solidify the foundations in the traditional cooperation areas, and promote the implementation and successful outcomes of additional new collaborative projects, so as to achieve a higher level of mutual benefit and win-win results.
Provincial leaders Cao Lijun, Chen Wei, and Pubu Dunzhu, officials from Kazakhstan's relevant government departments and its Embassy and Consulates in China, and heads of relevant provincial departments attended the meeting. |
