Recently, Wang Xiaohui, Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of Sichuan Provincial People's Congress, met with a delegation led by Bakhtiyor Saidov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, in Chengdu.

During the meeting, Wang Xiaohui welcomed Bakhtiyor Saidov and his delegation to Sichuan for the Fifth China-Central Asia Foreign Ministers' Meeting and provided a brief introduction to the economic and social development of Sichuan Province. He stated that China and Uzbekistan are friendly neighbors and an all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership for a new era. The two heads of state have met twice this year and mapped out a new blueprint for promoting the building of a China-Uzbekistan community with a shared future from a higher starting point, which also provides clear guidance for Sichuan to continuously deepen and expand mutually beneficial cooperation with Uzbekistan. We will earnestly implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state and focus on the mission of constructing a strategic highland for opening up to the west and a new base for participating in international competition. Taking this China-Central Asia Foreign Ministers' Meeting as an opportunity, we will fully leverage Sichuan's advantages, strengthen cooperation with Uzbekistan in areas such as infrastructure construction, clean energy development, and new energy vehicles, and expand exchanges in fields like education and healthcare, aiming to achieve more practical outcomes. It is hoped that Foreign Minister Saidov will continue to support and promote friendly exchanges and cooperation between our two sides, so as to expand the scope of our collaboration, enhance the level of our cooperation, and achieve greater mutual benefit and win-win outcomes. Together, we will contribute to the high-quality development of China-Uzbekistan relations.

Bakhtiyor Saidov expressed his appreciation for Sichuan's accomplishments in economic and social development. He stated that Uzbekistan and China have always supported each other and have always been partners in times of challenge. The bilateral relationship, he noted, is at its best in history. Sichuan has made remarkable achievements in its development and holds vast potential for further growth. They are very optimistic about the prospects for cooperation with Sichuan. Within the framework of the Belt and Road cooperation, they are willing to comprehensively deepen exchanges across various levels and fields, expand the mutually beneficial cooperation, and ensure that the collaborative outcomes more effectively and extensively benefit the people of both sides.

Provincial leaders Cao Lijun, Chen Wei, and Pubu Dunzhu, Uzbek officials from the country's relevant governmental departments, the Embassy in China, and its relevant local governments, and the heads from pertinent provincial departments attended the meeting.
