On the evening of March 31, the "Spring Initiates Infinite Possibilities" Tianfu Consumption Season event was officially launched in Chengdu, themed "Spring Initiates Infinite Possibilities, Renewal for a Brighter Life". Wang Xiaohui, Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of Sichuan Provincial People's Congress, and Shi Xiaolin, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, attended the launch event.
Before the launch event, Wang Xiaohui, Shi Xiaolin, and others visited the Spring Tide Cultural-Creative Pop-up Market and the New Car Trade-in Exhibition Area, which were organized as part of the consumption season. They toured the unveiling of new products by Sichuan's time-honored brands and product displays from several "Sichuan-based" automotive companies. Wang Xiaohui expressed his appreciation for focusing on the nighttime economic activities, the trade-ins of consumer goods programs, and the fashion-forward spending trends throughout this consumption season. He praised the meticulous planning and execution of a series of consumer promotional events. He pointed out that consumption is crucially tied to people's aspirations for a better life and is also an important engine for driving economic growth. In recent years, the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core has attached great importance to expanding domestic demand and promoting consumption, introducing a series of policy measures aimed at stimulating domestic demand across the board, which injected strong impetus for driving high-quality economic development. Recently, the central government has issued the Plan on Special Initiatives to Boost Consumption, outlining seven major actions and 30 practical measures to comprehensively boost consumption. We must carefully implement these measures in Sichuan, ensuring they are effectively executed and aligned with the local situations. All levels of Party committees and governments in the province should prioritize expanding domestic demand and boosting consumption in their overall work. Taking the Tianfu Consumption Season event as an opportunity, we should intensify efforts to expand the implementation of the large-scale equipment upgrades and trade-ins of consumer goods programs and the special initiatives to boost consumption, strive to enhance residents' consumption capacity, increase the supply of high-quality goods, cultivate new types of consumption formats, create a favorable consumption environment, and better meet the diverse needs of consumers. These efforts will further invigorate the consumption market and provide strong support for promoting high-quality economic development in the province.
At the launch event, the Department of Commerce unveiled the "Spring Initiates Infinite Possibilities" Tianfu Consumption Season series of activities. Representatives from business entities and the cultural and sports sectors shared insights on the new consumption trends under the theme "Spring Initiates Infinite Possibilities". Additionally, a showcase of "Tianfu Premium" products, including Mengding Huangya tea, Sanxingdui cultural and creative products, and Zigong tie-dye hairpins, was held. The event also featured a video promotion for the inaugural 2025 Sichuan-Chongqing Nighttime Economy Short Video Contest. Subsequently, amidst loud applause, consumer representatives, business entity representatives, and representatives from business and trade associations jointly launched the "Spring Initiates Infinite Possibilities" Tianfu Consumption Season event.
According to reports, the "Spring Initiates Infinite Possibilities" Tianfu Consumption Season series of activities will be implemented concurrently across 21 cities (prefectures) in the province. Tailored to the spring consumption characteristics of Sichuan, these activities will focus on six major fields: Spring Shopping, Spring Nights, Spring Banquets, Spring Entertainment, Spring Appreciation, and Spring Competitions. The initiative aims to strengthen the integration of trade and production, mobilize society, and foster synergy between government and enterprises. Through consumer discount measures and diverse consumption scenarios, these activities will continuously elevate the "Relax in Sichuan" consumption brand, boost local consumption, attract inbound spending, fully unlock regional consumption potential, and invigorate consumption vitality, thereby supporting the sustained recovery and improvement of the economy and contributing to higher standards of prosperous, comfortable living.
