Chengdu makes dreams come true. This year's TWG marks another large-scale international multi-sport event hosted in China's western region after the Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games. Over the past 11 days, nearly 4,000 athletes from 116 countries and regions pursued their dreams with passion—exchanging skills, building understanding, and collectively igniting the glorious light of sports that represents self-transcendence, unity, and friendship.

Under the night sky, the International Horticultural Exhibition Park shimmered with lights as crowds gathered before the International Friendship Pavilion, a scene alive with camaraderie and joyful celebrations, yet tinged with the bittersweet warmth of farewell.

The closing ceremony commenced with a big-screen retrospective of the Games' most thrilling moments. To the rhythm of uplifting music, delegation flags entered alongside representatives of athletes and volunteers. Gao Zhidan and José Perurena presented the Athletes of the DAY for TWG 2025 awards.

In her address, Shi Xiaolin expressed gratitude on behalf of the Organizing Committee of TWG 2025 Chengdu and Sichuan Province to all contributors for the event's successful execution and paid tribute to all athletes' unwavering spirit in their pursuit of dreams. She said that under the cordial care of President Xi Jinping and the strong leadership of the Chinese government, we shouldered our hosting responsibilities. Working together with the IWGA and respective international sports federations, and with the help and support of all sides we adhered to organizing a "green, inclusive, open, and clean" event, followed the "streamlined, safe, and splendid" requirements for organizing the games, and coordinated the efforts in leveraging the event organization to drive urban development, industrial prosperity, and public welfare. We fulfilled our solemn commitment to hosting a sports event that meets international standards, showcases Chinese style, and embodies Ba-Shu charm. The athletes poured their passion into every performance and showcased extraordinary determination, earning the glory of TWG by challenging themselves, helping each other succeed, and striving for excellence. Distinguished guests engaged in in-depth exchanges and mutual learning, experiencing the harmony of diverse civilizations where each culture shines in its own way while contributing to shared beauty. Staff members, "Little Green Pepper" volunteers, and Chengdu citizens alike demonstrated wholehearted dedication, showing their openness, inclusiveness, wisdom, resilience, civility, and friendliness—equally vital in co-authoring the TWG's success story. We welcome more friends to experience the splendid Sichuan, land of abundance, to witness and share the boundless vitality of Chinese modernization. Let us harness the power of sports and cooperation to advance peace, unity, and inclusiveness, making concrete contributions to building a community with a shared future for mankind and jointly creating a brighter future.
