The second Golden Panda Awards will be held in Chengdu from September 12 to 13. As one of the supporting events, the "Let's Watch a Film Together" film presentation will be held across Sichuan Province from August 29 to September 30, featuring cinema screenings, outdoor projections, and "Film+" integrated activities. This comprehensive cultural initiative, blending art, cultural tourism, consumption, and public benefits, will further energize Sichuan's film and television culture through diverse formats and rich content.
The cinema screenings feature five thematic sections: "Future Visions: Meeting Golden Panda", "Splendid Tianfu: Sichuan Power", "Classic Echoes: Light of Italy", "Global Perspectives: Lens on the World", and "Legacy of Light and Shadow: Treasures on Screen". These segments will showcase films submitted for the Golden Panda Awards, outstanding Sichuan productions, Italian cinema classics, representative works from film history, and new and old masterpieces honoring the 120th anniversary of Chinese cinema. The screenings will cover 15 premium cinemas across Chengdu, Mianyang, Zigong, Yibin, Luzhou, Ya'an and other cities. Select films will be accompanied by meet-the-creator sessions, roadshows, and post-screening discussions.
The outdoor screening program, scheduled from September 1 to 30, will present over 50,000 film screenings. These will be hosted at ten urban landmarks, including Chengdu Financial City Twin Towers, Kuanzhai Alley, Xinglong Lake, Xicun Courtyard, Tianfu Art Park, and Yibin's Hejiangmen Square, along with five university campuses such as Sichuan University, Southwest Jiaotong University, and Sichuan Normal University. The program will also integrate with over 20,000 public welfare film screening sites in administrative villages, achieving full provincial coverage in both urban and rural areas. Each location will curate thematic viewing experiences reflecting local cultural characteristics: Xicun Courtyard will launch "Night Run Open-Air Cinema"; Tiexiangsi Water Street will create "Eastern Aesthetics Theme Screenings"; Dongmen Dock will recreate the "Twelve Monthly Markets" festival culture; and Yibin's Hejiangmen Square will leverage its confluence of three rivers to establish "Yangtze Eye ? Starlight Cinema". Screening spots at the universities will organize in-depth dialogues between young movie fans and the creators of the films.
During the event, a series of integrated activities will be launched, including "Film + Tourism", "Film + Cuisine", "Film + Public Benefits", and "Film + Exposition", further extending the film culture consumption chain. For instance, the "Sichuan Travel with Films" program will launch ten film-themed tourism routes. Ticket stub economy will facilitate two-way discounts between scenic spots, hotels, and restaurants. The "Golden Panda Public Benefit Film Viewing" program will distribute 40 million yuan in movie consumption vouchers, covering cinemas province-wide. Additionally, the "Century of Light and Shadow" film poster exhibition will be held simultaneously at the Emei Film 1958 Park and Xicun Art Space.
