On August 27, Shi Xiaolin, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, met with Talgat Aldybergenov, Chairman of the Management Board of NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ) JSC, in Chengdu.

Shi Xiaolin extended a welcome to Talgat Aldybergenov for his first visit to Sichuan and provided a brief overview of the province's development. She said that under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, Sichuan has achieved abundant outcomes in exchanges and cooperation with Kazakhstan across various fields. In particular, the cooperation in channel logistics and economic and trade interactions has been enhanced significantly. Two places exhibit strong complementarity in economies, presenting significant potential for deepening cooperation. It is hoped that efforts will be made to earnestly implement the outcomes of the second China-Central Asia Summit, build a close community with a shared future, and take concrete actions to promote the landing of the Kazakh side's relevant land port terminal project. We should fully leverage Sichuan's strengths in industrial development and its role as a hub for western and southern opening up, alongside Kazakhstan's advantages in agricultural products and KTZ's comprehensive transport and logistics capabilities, employ such means as production-trade and goods-trade integration, as well as multimodal "highway-rail-water-air" transport, and use market-based mechanisms to ensure the sustainable operation and development of projects. These efforts will drive bilateral cooperation to higher levels, greater depth, and broader fields, ultimately better benefiting the people of both regions.

Talgat Aldybergenov expressed gratitude for Sichuan's support for KTZ's operations and voiced hope to jointly implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state. Under the Belt and Road Initiative, and drawing on models like the Xi'an-Kazakhstan Terminal, he proposed improving cooperation mechanisms, strengthening policy support, actively accelerating the construction and operation of the Kazakh land port project, assisting Sichuan in enhancing its open hub functions, continuously broadening cooperation areas, achieving more productive outcomes in cooperation, and realizing long-term mutually beneficial and win-win development.

Hu Yuankun, a member of the Party Leading Group of the provincial government, Yerlan Koishibayev, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of KTZ, and heads of relevant provincial departments, among others, attended the meeting.
