On August 5, Shi Xiaolin, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, met with a delegation led by José Perurena López, President of the International World Games Association (IWGA), in Chengdu.

Shi Xiaolin said that The World Games (TWG) is the highest-level international multi-sport event for non-Olympic disciplines. The Party Central Committee and the State Council attach great importance to the preparation of TWG 2025 Chengdu. With strong support from the General Administration of Sport of China and other ministries and commissions, Sichuan Province and Chengdu City have fully shouldered our hosting responsibilities and delivered on our bid commitments. Working together with the IWGA, Sichuan and Chengdu have successfully advanced all preparatory work, including venue construction, competition organization, opening and closing ceremonies, torch relay, promotional campaigns, and service guarantees. All preparations are now complete. We will maintain close coordination with the IWGA and international sports federations to meticulously organize the competitions, strengthen discussions and assessments, and implement robust contingency plans to address extreme weather and other operational challenges. Carrying forward the Olympic motto of "Faster, Higher, Stronger – Together", we will provide athletes and youth worldwide with a platform to push boundaries, realize dreams, and enhance cultural exchange, ultimately unleashing the comprehensive benefits generated from event organization to drive urban development, industrial prosperity, and public welfare. Together, we pledge a "streamlined, safe, and splendid" event.

José Perurena López spoke highly of the preparatory work for TWG 2025 Chengdu. He stated that the IWGA and all participating parties are fully confident that TWG will be successfully hosted. He expressed the hope that the organizing teams from both sides will continue working in close coordination to deliver events meeting international standards and TWG requirements, stage spectacular opening and closing ceremonies, maintain professional competition organization, and host diverse sports-cultural activities, so as to provide athletes with an exceptional competitive experience, engage local residents through interactive participation, and showcase Sichuan's and Chengdu's organizational capabilities and cultural appeal to the world, ultimately working together to make this the most successful World Games in history.

Tom Dielen, Vice President of IWGA, Lukas Hinder, Treasurer of IWGA, Cao Lijun, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Secretary of the CPC Chengdu Municipal Committee, Yang Xingping, Vice Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, Hu Yuankun, Member of the Party Leading Group of the provincial government, and leading officials from relevant provincial departments, among others, attended the meeting.
